Eman Ahmed Abdulati, the world's heaviest woman, may not have shed 250 kg as well as the tag of being the "world's heaviest woman," according to allegations levelled by her sister Shaimaa Selim. Eman, who had arrived in India earlier this year weighing 500 kg and was promised a major weight loss by bariatric surgeon Muffazal Lakdawala in Mumbai, has not lost any weight, Shimaa has claimed.

Shaimaa has claimed in a Facebook video that all claims by Dr Lakdawala, including the one that she was now half her weight, are false. And with barely a week left before 36-year-old Eman makes the journey back home to Alexandria in Egypt, Shaima has also claimed that the latest of the seizures her sister has been having since her March surgery has left one side of her paralysed!

Shaima is heard saying in the video, which is believed to have been shot on April 14: "Everything was a lie. God forgive them for what they have done... Eman did not lose 240 kg or 260 kg." She said in another Facebook post that another promise made by Dr Lakdawala — that Eman would be able to walk on her own by the end of the surgery and treatment — has also not come true.

Shaimaa also said that the hospital where Eman was being treated was "not equipped" for cases like hers. She added: "These people are not good at all. Not polite. Liars. Dr Muffazal cheated us. Liar. He said Eman will be treated and promised she will be fine and she will lose weight. Eman... she has been destroyed. She has been operated just to show people she lost some weight. Pray for Eman to leave this place safely and to be cured."

Doctor counters attack

Dr Lakdawala, however, stands by his previous statement that Eman has lost weight. She told NDTV: "She has lost a lot of weight, and I have fulfilled my promise that she would be able to sit in a chair. Now, she is suffering from neurological problems that don't fall under my supervision. She has made a video accusing me; it's circulating within the Egyptian consulate. The officials who helped us in getting Eman to Mumbai are so ashamed of her behaviour that they are apologising to me."

He also told ANI that Shaimaa is doing all this because she does not have the financial resources to take Eman back home. He explained to Mid-Day that Shaimaa does not have funds to continue Eman's treatment in Egypt, and that was why she was trying to blame the Mumbai hospital and the doctor.
