There are only 15 homecooks remaining in the "MasterChef" kitchen and that number could get a lot lesser as the contestants take part in a challenge that's known to be difficult. In the latest instalment, Season 7 episode 7 of the U.S. version of "MasterChef," the remaining contestants cook for 101 veterans and the task isn't easy at all.

As with all team challenges, the 15 homecooks will be divided into two teams. Since Alejandro won the skills test in Season 7 episode 6, we reckon he will use his mysterious advantage in this week's episode. The 26-year-old from Miami could indeed be a team captain and might pick some of the best cooks in the competition.

For the team challenge, the teams will cook a steak, a side dish and a sauce. Sounds easy? Well, think again. There will be some bad decisions made by the team captains.

The promo for Season 7 episode 7 captures the blue team struggling as they try to cook their steaks. The reason being that blue team's captain Shawn decides to add honey to the marinade. This results in the steaks burning quickly and "MasterChef" judge Gordon Ramsay is less than impressed.

He tells Brandi in the promo, "There's no difference between the colour of the steak and the charcoal. You don't put honey on a barbecue. It's sugar."

Chef Ramsay then asks the team captain to fix the problem, but Shawn doesn't seem to see his mistake. He defends his decision to add honey and says, "You absolutely have to pay more attention when you're cooking over an open flame. If you leave it on a hot spot the whole time, whether this marinade is on it or not, that steak's going to burn."

Judging by the promo, it looks like the blue team's hopes of winning this team challenge are already burning. Will Shawn take the rest of his team down with him to elimination?

"MasterChef" Season 7 episode 7 airs at 8 p.m. EST on Wednesday, July 13, on FOX. You can live-stream the episode via FOX NOW
