It's a new week and the couples on "Married at First Sight" have a new experience. In Season 4 episode 9 titled "To Have and to Hold," intimacy is the key word. Tom Wilson and his wife Lilian Vilchez meet a relationship expert to get closer, while Sonia Granados and her husband Nick Pendergrast try to spark some sexual chemistry in their marriage.

The couples on the FYI TV series certainly seem to know each other better than they did earlier. And if there's one truth that Sonia has learnt about her husband, it is this: Nick is quite reticent and closed off. Most fans would agree that Nick's character traits stand in contrast to his wife's jubilant, gregarious personality. Perhaps it is this difference in their personalities that's led to a dearth of sexual chemistry as well.

In Season 4 episode 9, the couple meets a tantric healer in order to create sexual tension. The expert makes them touch each other and encourages them to be sensuous.

In the promo for the upcoming episode, Sonia certainly looks excited as she takes part in the workshop. She holds on to Nick and tells the cameras that sex is really important. Meanwhile, her husband doesn't enjoy their group activity. Nick feels uncomfortable when he's asked to touch Sonia. Although it's not clear why Nick rejects Sonia, he says that he will not encourage physical intimacy in their marriage.

It's clear that Nick and Sonia's marriage is underpinned by problems that range from physical and emotional intimacy to difference in perspectives. But they aren't the only ones who confront their problems. Heather Seidel and Derek Schwartz make a decision about whether or not they want to stay married.
