Mohun Bagan got knocked out of the AFC Cup 2016 after recording a 1-2 defeat against Tampines Rovers in their round-of-16 match of the competition on Tuesday. Can Bengaluru FC become the only club from India to progress to the quarterfinals of the competition on Wednesday? Only time will tell.

The I-League champions take on Kitchee SC at the Mong Kok Stadium in Hong Kong on Wednesday. The Blues from India were knocked out of the Federation Cup 2016 by debutantes Aizawl FC, and Ashley Westwood's men will be expected to regain all their strength to achieve yet another favourable result in the AFC Cup 2016.

"We're up against a very tough team in Kitchee who have done well in the group stages. But so have we, getting wins in the middle. It's a Round-of-16 game which is always going to be tricky but we are confident because we always prepare well. It's going to be an exciting game," said Bengaluru FC Technical Analyst Mathew Holland ahead of the game, as quoted by a press release.

Bengaluru FC stood second from Group H in the competition, while Kitchee were the leaders from Group F, after having recorded just one defeat in the competition.

Westwood will not be available in the touchline as he serves a suspension handed to him by the AFC. However, this has not taken away any positivity from the BFC camp. "The mood in the dressing room is that of confidence. There's a desire among the squad to go one better this season and we hope to be able to translate that desire on the pitch," said star midfielder Eugeneson Lyngdoh.

The good news for Kitchee is that Spanish forward Rufino Segovia, who has so far scored five times in the tournament, is available for the game.
