Pop Princess Britney Spears will make her much anticipated debut as a guest star in the popular satirical romantic comedy-drama, "Jane The Virgin", this Monday, 2 November, at 9PM. The "Pretty Girls" singer will portray Rogelio de la Vega's (Jaime Camil) nemesis in the fifth episode of season 2, titled "Chapter Twenty-Seven".
While sharing her excitement on casting the Pop Princess, executive producer Jennie Snyder Urman also teased that the upcoming sequel will focus on Rogelio's past and his nemesis side of the story.
"We are so thrilled that Rogelio's 'nemesis' — Britney Spears — has agreed to appear on 'Jane The Virgin' in episode 205. Personally, after hearing about their long standing feud (from Rogelio's point of view), we are eager to hear Ms. Spears' side of the story, which we assume is quite different. #TeamBritney. It turns out, she's a real nemesis of Rogelio, but the quality of their interaction is in dispute of what Rogelio thinks and what Britney thinks," Variety quoted her as saying.
Meanwhile, cast member Gina Rodriguez also spoke about how thrilled she was to work with her favourite music icon. "Britney Spears was my pop star. When I was 16 it was Britney, when I was in college it was Britney, and, to be quite honest, it's still Britney. She's lovely and wonderful and kind and giving and so funny. We got to dance together and I cannot wait to see her in Vegas and to see her show," the actress told E!Online.

Rogelio learns that his nemesis, Britney Spears, is at the Marbella Hotel and he is determined to confront her about their past. Michael Cordero (Brett Dier) is so caught up in his ongoing feud with Rafael Solano (Justin Baldoni) that he ends up in big trouble at work. Meanwhile, Petra (Yael Groblas) gets an offer from her ex Milos (guest star Max Bird-Ridnell) she just can't refuse.
