Delhi Dynamos are desperate for a win in the ISLIANS

NorthEast United FC will look to climb up to fourth in the ISL table with a win over the Delhi Dynamos in their Indian Super League game at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Monday.

Ricki Herbert's men are currently second from bottom on ten points from nine matches, but if they win this game in hand, they can go above Mumbai City, Pune City and Goa into fourth place, the final position for making the semifinals of the ISL.

Things haven't gone too well for NorthEast United of late, with the young team failing to pick up a single win from their last five ISL games.

Scoring goals has been a problem for NorthEast United, and manager Herbert has promised his team are ready to rectify that particular issue.

"We have been good when it comes to keeping possession," said Herbert on Sunday. "We will be looking to play an attacking game tomorrow. We will also try and put away the chances that we create.

"It's not that we are not creating any chances. We are just lacking the composure to put them away. Hopefully, we can stick a few in the back of the net against Delhi."

At the other end will be a Delhi Dynamos side in even more dire straits. Ever since smashing four goals past Chennaiyin FC, the current league leaders, almost exactly a month back, Delhi have failed to pick up a single win, while suffering four defeats in those six games.

Alessandro Del Piero has just not been able to inspire his side to a different level, and if the Delhi Dynamos, who are bottom of the table with just seven points from nine matches, fail to pick up a win against NorthEast United on Monday, their chances of making the semifinals will diminish considerably.

"We know that it is such an important game for us," said Delhi Dynamos manager Harm Van Veldhoven. "We want to take all three points out of this game. It is important that we do not lose faith in ourselves and push on.

"We have seen how FC Pune City were in a similar position about a month ago. They won their next few games and are now in a good spot.

"I can also point to FC Goa's mini run which illustrates the same point. The gap between the top placed and bottom placed teams is not much. A couple of wins could see us in contention for the top four."
