The second half of "The Flash" will be legendary, thanks to the return of the Reverse Flash aka Eobard Thawne, with the continued harassment of Zoom and the debut of Killer Frost and Deathstorm. Starting with season 2 episode 10 "Potential Energy", Barry (Grant Gustin) and the rest of the Team Flash will be seen battling one formidable DC villain after another, while Barry's sweet romance with Patty Spivot (Shantel VanSanten) may reach an abrupt end.

Barry and Patty have been dating for a while now, with the two of them even celebrating Christmas with the Wests. As Barry's feelings for the young detective grows stronger, he battles with the idea of revealing his secret identity to her. In the promo for "Potential Energy" Barry is seen getting contradictory advice from two of his friends.

Wells (Tom Cavanaugh) is seen telling Barry, "If Zoom learns who you care for, who you love, he will take them from you" and he of course is speaking from personal experience. In fact, Zoom has not only kidnapped Wells' daughter, he is using her as leverage to get Wells to work for him.

Meanwhile, Barry's first love and best friend Iris (Candice Patton) tells him that if he cares for Patty, he will have to tell her the truth. Barry seems to have gone with the second advice, and in the promo he is heard telling, "I'll tell Patty I am the Flash."

In a more recent promo shared on the Facebook page of "The Flash", Barry is seen repeating the same line to his friends Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Jay (Teddy Sears). "She put bullets in King Shark and Harry. So, as far as I'm concerned that's Team Flash material to me," an excited Cisco tells Barry.

Unfortunately, Wells' prediction about Zoom's intervention in Barry's happy ending seems to have come true. In the promo, she is dangling from Zoom's arms in a scene, while she is tied to a chair in another. Does this mean Barry will lose yet another person he cares for?

In a poll we conducted, we had asked fans if Zoom will kill Patty after she learns that her boyfriend is the Flash. We received over 1,500 responses, and of them 41% said that Patty will survive "Pontential Energy". Meanwhile, 21% felt that she needs to die for Barry to get the motivation to defeat Zoom. About 35% of the fans felt that Patty's death is irrelevant because the ultimate pairing in "The Flash" is going to be Barry and Iris.

Watch out for season 2 episode 10 of "The Flash", which will be aired at 8 pm (EST) on Tuesday, 19 January. You can also live stream "Potential Energy" via The CW Website.
