Chelsea will want to continue their strong recent form when they travel to Watford in the English Premier League on Wednesday.
Seven matches unbeaten in the Premier League, albeit with several draws in there, have taken Chelsea to 14th in the standings, and a win against Watford could take them up to 11th in the standings.
With the Blues still holding slim hopes of finishing in the top four, nothing but a win will do against a Watford side, who have just stumbled a little of late. Guus Hiddink, whose first match in charge of Chelsea was against Watford, a match which ended 2-2, is hopeful of another three points, after picking up a much-needed victory over Arsenal in their last game in the Premier League.
"They have a very dangerous team and can score at any moment," Hiddink said of Watford to the club's official website. "The strikers are very dangerous and have a very well organised team around them.
"Quique Sanchez Flores [the Watford manager] was my player and I know how he can construct a team and make them very solid and tough to beat. I go from one game to the next, if we carry on as we are doing in the last few games we'll be OK.
"My first experience in England was the FA Cup game against Watford in 2009. It was an easy game for Chelsea and we won with 60% effort. Nowadays, it's impossible to think like that. It's grown a lot and the gap between the top clubs and the bottom clubs hasn't vanished but it's reduced."
Watford, after losing four matches on the spin, finally picked up a favourable result in their last Premier League match, when they beat Newcastle United 2-1. Now, Flores will be keen to see his players regain that rhythm which, not so long ago, had people thinking they were top four contenders.
"It's very difficult to play against Chelsea, they have amazing power in terms of physicality, but we played against this team a month-and-a-half ago and we had the opportunity to win before finally we drew," Flores was quoted as saying by Sky Sports. "Our expectation is very high -- to be competitive and to play well, to make a balance with Chelsea. Of course, we are really positive we can do something good."
