Leicester City are on the brink of history this seasonReuters

With eight games remaining this season, it's getting closer and closer for Leicester City to make history by lifting the prestigious English Premier League title. The Foxes are currently five points clear of second placed Tottenham Hotspur and they know the importance of bagging three more points to solidify their lead at the top of the table.

Leicester have a tricky test, however, in the form of Crystal Palace in the EPL.

Crystal Palace may be at the bottom half of the table at the moment, but everyone knows the Eagles cannot be underestimated at Selhurst Park. They almost defeated heavyweights Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City at their home stadium and also managed to hold Manchester United to a goalless draw earlier this season.

The Eagles' current form may not be that impressive, but Leicester coach Claudio Ranieri is not willing to take any risks, as the Premier League 2015-16 enters the most crucial phase. The title is for Leicester's to lose and Ranieri is aware of that.

"We have a tight-knit, wonderful dressing room and a team that works. However, we know we haven't done anything yet," the Italian coach was quoted by the BBC. "Everyone is rooting for us to win the Premier League. It's incredible that a small club are punching above their weight like this in the big-money era."

Leicester are undefeated in their previous four league fixtures and Ranieri admitted that his team have already exceeded expectations this season and there is no pressure on them anymore.

"If results are good it's good. If not good it doesn't matter. We've done our job – to save the team," Ranieri told Guardian. "Now it's to enjoy the matches, make our fans proud – then we can do something more."

Crystal Palace are currently 15th in the table. They have failed to win in any of their last six fixtures but that hasn't dented the belief, according to manager Alan Pardew.

"I'm not going to change us – we're still going to play an open game, still going to attack the opposition," Palace coach Alan Pardew told Mirror. "We could sit in and grind out some wins at home, but my fans don't want that. They want us to compete with the top teams and we'll compete against Leicester. We'll go toe-to-toe."
