A woman was dragged down the aisle of a Delta Air Lines flight by Detroit Metro Airport police on Monday after she ignored boarding and check-in baggage procedure.

The video of the incident, uploaded on YouTube by travel blogger Rene' deLambert, has gone viral and shows police officers gathered around the woman and pulling her off the flight against her will. The woman appears silent and does not protest the treatment meted out to her by the officers. The flight was going from Detroit to San Diego, California.

The video, however, does not show what happened prior to her being dragged out of the plane in that manner. In the video, the woman's fellow passengers can be heard exclaiming "oh my god," "that's crazy" and expressing shock at the incident. Many can also be seen recording the scene on their phones.

According to a statement by airport spokesperson Brian Lassaline, the police officers at the airport got involved after Delta asked for assistance with a passenger who "would not comply with boarding and baggage check procedures" at the gate, Huffington Post reported.

"When officers arrived, Delta Air Lines stated the woman could not remain on boar. Despite repeated requests by officers, the woman refused to leave the aircraft and had to be removed," Lassaline said.

Reports state that the woman was later arrested and charges are pending against her.
