Jamaica Tallawahs will take on a struggling St Kitts and Nevis Patriots side in match no. 17 of CPL 2016 at the Kingston on Saturday. This is Tallawahs' second game in two days and they will want to keep the winning momentum going.

Tallawahs are coming into this match after an impressive victory over the table-toppers Guyana Amazon Warriors on Friday. Chris Gayle was yet again brilliant with the bat and this time he was ably assisted by Shakib Al Hasan, who scored a half-century as well.

Patriots, on the other hand, have lost five out of their six matches and are reeling at the bottom half of the table. Faf du Plessis-led Patriots really need to buckle up or else fans will get to see a similar story like last year when they made their debut in CPL.

Chris Gayle's Jamaica Tallawahs have a golden opportunity to reduce the gap between them and the Warriors to just one point at the top of the CPL 2016 points table. Gayle and co. will not want to let this chance go a begging. Two games in two days is definitely tiring but there is a good side to it as well as mentioned, they can inch closer to that elusive semi-final spot of CPL 2016.

Sadly, Patriots' star players have struggled in CPL 2016 — Lendl Simmons, Brad Hodge and Du Plessis himself have not got many runs under their belt. Two of their bowlers, Tabraiz Shamsi and Samuel Badree have done well in certain matches but that was not enough to pull their side to victories against their opponents. They really need to come up with more cohesive efforts in the remaining matches in CPL 2016.

Expected playing XI:

Jamaica Tallawahs: Chris Gayle (C), Chadwick Walton, Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Rovman Powell, Shakib Al Hasan, Andre Russell, Andre McCarthy, Imad Wasim, Dale Steyn, Kesrick Williams, Garey Mathurin.

St Kitts and Nevis Patriots: Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Faf du Plessis (C), Jonathan Carter, Brad Hodge, Devon Thomas (wk), JJ Smuts, Sheldon Cottrell, Samuel Badree, Tabraiz Shamsi, Alzarri Joseph.
