A cracker of a game is in store for football fans with a huge Group D champions league clash between Manchester City and Juventus at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday. Sevilla, who won the Europa League last season, and Borussia Monchengladbach make up for the other two teams in the group.

The group is said to be one of the strongest in the competition. Hence, the Manchester City-Juventus game is a huge one with only two teams progressing from the group. Alongside Manchester City and Juventus, Sevilla also have an equal chance of making it to the next stage. Monchengladbach could be the giant killers in the group.

Manchester City have received a huge setback with their star striker Sergio Aguero set to miss the game due to an injury he sustained during the weekend. But they must be buoyed with David Silva and Raheem Sterling who are expected to start after recovering from injuries.

However, Manchester City should not be worried much after their five successive wins in the English Premier League, which sees them on top of the table. Things have looked disappointing for Juventus, who are yet to win a single game this season in the Serie A.

The Citizen's boss, Manuel Pellegrini understands the need to be a successful team in Europe besides the domestic competition.

"We are not thinking about where we can get to in the Champions League this year, we are just thinking about winning against Juventus tomorrow and trying to qualify. It is very important for the team to be successful not only domestically but in Europe. We need to go step by step," UEFA official website quoted Pellegrini as saying.

Juventus, after suffering losses against Roma and Udinese in the Serie A, are aware of the tough task they face. Juventus need their big guns such as Paul Pogba, Mario Mandžukić, Paulo Dybala amongst other players to fire on Tuesday.

A victory for Juventus against the English club could give the team the much needed confidence with the Italian side lacking self-esteem. "We need to boost our self-belief a bit too, because at the moment that is perhaps lacking. All of a sudden you win a game and the team is much stronger than it was before," Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri said.

The coach believes that his team needs to play the game at a high intensity. Juventus also have to cope with the huge local support for City. "City are among the favourites to win the Champions League this year. We will have to play with high intensity, be brave and very technical in our approach," added Allegri.
