Episode 1 of "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" season 3 was turmoil of emotions from Jake-Amy love story, the arrival and death of the new captain (played by Bill Hader) and Captain Holt's misfortune in wearing a pigeon costume. Now the tone for the new season is set, and we can get to the each story in depth.

In "The Funeral", which obviously attributes to the funeral of Captain Dozerman, we will see a new obstacle that stands in the way of Amy (Melissa Fumero) and Jake (Adam Sandberg) in the form of the new captain, Warren Pembroke aka "The Vulture" (Dean Winters).

He has taken over as the new commanding officer for the nine-nine, and has promised every detective during his introductory meeting that he will make things more miserable for them than he used to. It is understood that he will put Jake and Amy's relationship at risk.

Meanwhile, their old captain, Holt (Andre Braugher) is trying to bring some improvements to the PR department, despite Wuncth's (Kyra Sedgwick) efforts to squish his dreams. He will be seeking the help of his old pal Terry (Terry Crews) for some important public relations matter. But sadly, thanks to his twin toddlers, Terry gets drunk with just a drink and Holt's request may just go unfulfilled.

Boyle (Joe Lo Truglio) on the other hand will be getting some action in the coming episode. It is understood that he has an admirer in a fellow-detective who is romantically interested in him. However, Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz) and Gina (Chelsea Peretti) are weary of this woman played by Archie Panjabi, advises Boyle to rethink his affections.
