Aamir Khan reportedly approached Rajinikanth with the request to lend his voice for the Tamil dubbed version of Dangal but the South superstar refused.

Apparently, Aamir had also organised a special screening of Dangal for Rajinikanth. One journalist said on Twitter that Rajni politely refused to dub for the Tamil version of Dangal.

"#AamirKhan screened #Dangal for #Rajinikanth and requested him to dub for his char in the Tamil version. The latter politely turned down," entertainment journalist of IANS, Haricharan Pudipeddi tweeted.

Dangal will be released in Hindi,Tamil and Telugu. Rajinikanth is the biggest superstar of the Tamil industry and Aamir apparently had thought that Rajni's contribution to the film will boost its business in the southern part of India.

However, rumours suggest that Rajinikanth refusing to be a part of Dangal is an act of payback. There are reports saying that Rajni had earlier approached Aamir for the role of an antagonist in his upcoming movie 2.0 but the PK actor had turned that down. It was the same role that now Akshay Kumar will be seen doing in the film.

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal is a sports biopic on the life of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat and his two daughters, who are also wrestlers. This is one of the most awaited flicks of 2016 and its trailer had also received positive response from the viewers.

Two debutants Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra will be making their Bollywood debut in Dangal. They will portray the characters of Aamir's onscreen daughters. Sakshi Tanwar will play the role of Aamir's onscreen wife. The movie will hit the screens on December 23.
