"The Voice" U.S. Season 7 has reached the final weeks of the show and the number of contestants has narrowed down from 48 to just five after months of fierce competition. The quarterfinals results were shocking to say the least, as the show is now left with only male contestants with the lone female singer, DaNica Shirey, sent home on Tuesday.

Female artistes, Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, and Tessanne Chin won "The Voice" titles consecutively until Josh Kaufman bagged it in season 6. However, the show's season 7 will go to the semifinals without a female contestant following DaNica's exit on Tuesday.

Host Carson Daly announced the names of the contestants voted to the semifinals; they were Matt McAndrew of Team Adam, Damien of Team Adam, Taylor John Williams of Team Gwen, and Craig Wayne Boyd of Team Blake.

Luke Wade of Team Pharrell, Chris Jamison of Team Adam, Ryan Sill of Team Gwen, and DaNica Shirey of Team Pharrell were left in the bottom four, so they had to perform one last time for survival.

DaNica took on the song, "I'd Rather Go Blind" by Etta James and it was a good rendition. Pharrell's choice of songs for her is questionable but she has never failed to deliver the goods. Her rendition of Heart's "These Dreams" on Monday was also good and many thought that it would take her to the semifinals.

Luke rendered "Stand by Me" by Ben E. King and it was a decent performance. He sang "Holding Back the Years" by Red in the quarterfinals live performance.

Ryan performed "Heaven" by Bryan Adams and it was an average rendition. He was placed in the bottom three last week but was saved by the public for his rendition of "Collide" by Howie Day.

Chris Jamison performed "Georgia on My Mind" by Ray Charles and it was a good rendition. He took on Marvin Gaye's "Sexual Healing" on Monday but failed to get America's votes.

At the end of the day, it is the audience who decide the fate of the bottom four contestants. America saved Chris, leaving Pharrell Williams with no contestant in the competition.

The semifinals episode of "The Voice" season 7 will go live on Monday, next week.
