Vivo X5 Max: World's Slimmest Smartphone Officially Launched; Set for India Release Next WeekTMall

Chinese smartphone major, Vivo Electronics is all geared to launch the company's ultra-slim X5 Max in India on Monday (15 December).

The company is hosting a press event in India reportedly to reveal the India price and availability details of the Vivo X5 Max.

Vivo X5 Max has gained a lot of attention for being the world's slimmest smartphone in the market. Previously the record was held by Oppo R5 (4.85 mm), which overtook Gionee Elife S5.1 just a few weeks back.

To provide some perspective on the new device, we have listed key aspects which users can use to decide whether the Vivo X5 Max is worth the money.

Five key features of Vivo X5 Max:

Ultra-Slim body: As mentioned above, Vivo is very thin - it measures just 4.75 mm in thickness, making it the world's slimmest phone. Considering its mammoth 5.5-inch screen, its slim body helps the user to have a good grip over the big-screen phone.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 series SoC (System on Chip): Vivo houses the new generation 64-bit class Snapdragon 615 series processor which can clock close to 1.7GHz CPU speed. It is one of the only few Android handsets in the market to boast a 64-bit class-based chipset.

Full HD display: Vivo flagship phone flaunts a full HD (1920x1080p) resolution screen with a pixel density of close 401 ppi (pixels per inch). Some might argue that other Tier 1-based marquee devices boast of QHD (aka 2K: 2560x1440p) display, but many people don't know that the normal eye will not be able to differenciate between screens beyond HD (1,280x720p) resolutions. Even the OnePlus One touted as the flagship smartphone killer features the same display specification.

Camera: The new Vivo X5 Max has well-endowed camera features. It houses a 13.0-megapixel camera with auto-focus, LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and a pretty decent 5.0-megapixel camera with f/2 aperture.

Price: If the company sells the new phone with a competitive price tag of around 20,000 and 25,000, it is certain to pose a threat to One Plus One, HTC Desire 820Q, Desire 816 and others.
