Vivo unveils X7, X7 Plus with Snapdragon 652 SoC, 16MP front camera; price, specifications

Chinese technology major Vivo pulled the wraps off the long rumoured smartphones X7 and X7 Plus in Beijing on June 30.

The new X7 and X7 Plus series come with almost the same hardware, but differ in three key aspects such as screen size, battery and primary camera. The former comes with 5.2-inch display, 3,000mAh cell and a 13MP snapper on the back. Whereas, the latter features a 5.7-inch screen, a 4,000mAh battery to power the massive screen and a superior 16MP camera on the rear. Rest of the specifications remain the same in both the devices.

An interesting thing about the new X7 series is that they feature Apple iPhone 6S series inspired design language with an all metal-clad body with curved corners. The white antenna lines on the rear is also strikingly similar.

Other stipulated features include full HD super AMOLED display with physical home button, which also doubles up as a fingerprint sensor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 octa-core CPU, Android 5.1.1 Lollipop-based Funtouch v2.5.1 OS, 4GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.

The key aspect of the new Vivo X7 series is the selfie camera. It boasts 16MP shooter with a wide array of beautification tools to enhance the picture.

Vivo X7 series price and availability:

The 5.2-inch Vivo X7 is slated to hit stores initially in China on July 7 for ¥2,498 (around $375/€338/Rs. 25,440). It will be available in champagne gold and rose gold colour options.

On the other hand, the phablet model 5.7-inch X7 Plus will be released in the following week on July 15. The company will announce the price on the launch date, GSM Arena reported.
