Despite being caught in a string of controversies, Kamal Haasan's mega-budget film "Vishwaroopam" has held a strong position at the overseas box offices.

Even after the release of new films like "Kadal" and "David", the Kamal Haasan starrer is going strong in the international market.

The first day collection of the film at domestic box offices stands at ₹1.89 crore.

Kamal plays the lead character in the bilingual film and Pooja Kumar, Rahul Bose, Andrea Jeremiah and Jaideep Ahlawat are cast in the supporting roles.

The film was scheduled to release worldwide on Jan 25, but due to its content the screening was banned in Tamil Nadu and some parts of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka.
