The Vishu-Easter season, which is deemed as the best time to release films in Kerala, is all set to kick off from Friday (11 April).

Several biggies have lined up for release during the 10-day-long holiday weekend (11-20 April) in the state. Films of popular Malayalam stars including Mammootty, Dileep, Fahadh Faasil, Prithviraj and Kunchacko Boban will be clashing at the box office.

Gangster

Mammootty's "Gangster" is all set to kick off the holiday season with its release on 11 April.

"Gangster," directed by Aashiq Abu, is a crime thriller flick with Mammootty playing the role of Akbar Ali Khan. The film has Nyla Usha and Aparna Gopinath in female lead roles, whereas Sekhar Menon, John Paul, TG Ravi and Kunchan appear in supporting roles.

The film's music is composed by Deepak Dev, cinematography is handled by Alby and editing is done by Saiju Sreedharan.

"Gangster" has received an "A" rating from the censor board. The film will be having a solo release on Friday.

Ring Master

Dileep's "Ring Master" will be hitting theatres on 12 April (Saturday)

Directed by Rafi, "Ring Master" will have Dileep donning the role of a dog trainer in a circus company.

The film has Keerthi Suresh, Honey Rose, Mohan Jose, Kalabhavan Shajon, Aju Varghese and Suraj Venjaramoodu in important roles.

The music director for "Ring Master" is Gopi Sundar, whereas Shaji is the cinematographer.

The film has got a clean "U" rating from the censor board and is aiming to attract the family audience.

7th Day

Prithviraj's "7th Day" will be releasing on 12 April. The film was initially slated to release on 11 April, but is now pushed to 12 April.

The crime drama flick will be facing competition from Dileep's "Ring Master," which is also hitting the screens on the same day.

Directed by debutante Shyamdhar, "7th Day" will have Prithviraj appearing in the role of a crime branch officer, who is under suspension and is investigating a case on his own.

The film has Janani Iyer, Ajmal Ameer, Anu Mohan and Tovino Thomas in supporting roles.

"7th Day" music is composed by Deepak Dev, cinematography is handled by Sujith Vaassudev and editing is done by John Kutty.

The Prithviraj starrer has received a clean chit from the censor board.

Polytechnique (Pauly Technique)

Kunchacko Boban's "Polytechnique" will be out on 12 April.

The film, directed by Padmakumar, will have Kunchacko essaying the role of a politician. Bhavana plays the female lead opposite Kunchacko and will appear as a police officer.

"Polytechnique" has got a "U" rating and will be competing with Dileep's "Ring Master" and Prithviraj's "7th Day" as both the films are also releasing on the same day.

One by Two

Fahadh Faasil's "One by Two" will be releasing on 13 April. The psychological thriller flick will have Fahadh appearing in the role of a cop for the first time in his film career.

Directed by Arun Kumar Aravind, "One by Two" will have Murali Gopy, Honey Rose and Abhinaya in pivotal roles.
