Ilayathalapathy Vijay's "Puli" trailer was released on Wednesday night and it has already gone viral on social media.

Vijay's "Puli" is one of the most awaited Tamil films of the year and has been trending on social media for weeks now. The film directed by Chimbu Deven features Vijay, Shruthi Haasan, Sri Devi, Prabhu, Sudeep and Hansika Motwani in prominent roles.

The first official teaser of the film was released on 22 June and on Wednesday evening, the makers released the official 1 minute 53 second theatrical trailer online. And since then, the trailer has gone viral.

The trailer has been viewed more than 539,140 times  since its release and the number keeps increasing. The Tamil fantasy-action-adventure has also garnered more than 45,324 likes in less than 24 hours of the trailer release.

The trailer is a complete package filled with action, romance, thrill and remarkable performances from the lead cast. But there is one more factor that has caught viewers' attention and that is its uncanny resemblance to "Game of Thrones" (HBO's popular fantasy drama series).

The first scene of the trailer, sets, costumes and of course, the throne gives a feel of popular show "Games of Thrones".
