The makers of "Puli" have failed to clear the complete remuneration of popular yesteryear actress Sridevi Kapoor, who made her comeback in the Tamil film industry with the Vijay-starrer. This has led to her filing a complaint against the producers at the Mumbai Producer's Council.

The issue came to light a few days ago after Sridevi approached the Mumbai's Producer's Council asking them to intervene in the issue. It is speculated that even after the release, she has not been paid her full remuneration and this has upset her.

Producer Shibu Thameens, who was supposed to undergo some surgery on Monday, 9 November, has postponed it after he came to know about her complaint, and is trying to solve the issue. He tweeted: "Will clarify Sridevi mam complaint, postpone my surgery tomorrow nd joining my partner pts in Chennai. (sic)"

The buzz says Sridevi was already paid a bomb to star in "Puli", but the makers are yet to clear another Rs 50 lakh. The makers were supposed to pay up before the release, but could not clear the final part of her remuneration, instead requesting her to wait some more time after the release.

"Puli" was made with budget of over Rs 100 crore, but failed to set the cash registers ringing. The film features big names like Vijay, Kannada superstar Sudeep, Sridevi, Shruthi Haasan and Hansika Motwani in the lead roles, with in Chimbu Deven helming the flick.

It is a fantasy-entertainer in which the screenplay by the director reportedly played spoilsport. It is jointly bankrolled by Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar.

Industry insiders believe the makers could not clear Sridevi's remuneration as "Puli" failed to rake in the moolah.
