Vijay fans are eagerly looking forward for the release of "Kaththi" trailer as the film's release date, 22 October, is nearing.

There were speculations that the trailer would be released during the last weekend. But, it did not happen much to the disappointment of the fans.

Latest we hear is that the makers of "Kaththi" are planning to unveil the trailer close to the release of the film. Buzz is that it might release on 20 or 21 October. However, an official confirmation on the exact release date of the trailer is still awaited.

Trailers give a glimpse of what to expect the film and generate curiosity among the audience. Generally, trailers are released at least a week ahead of the film's release to boost the hype surrounding the project. It is not clear as to why the makers of "Kaththi" have decided to release the trailer just before the film's release. It may be recalled that Vijay's "Jilla" trailer was also released two days prior to the film's release.

"Kaththi" is one the most anticipated films of the year as it marks the second time collaboration of Vijay with director AR Murugadoss. The film has created huge positive buzz among the fans thanks to the teaser and the songs. It remains to be seen if the Vijay starrer will live up to the expectations of the audience.

Meanwhile, the film's team is yet to start the promotional activities of the project. So far, "Kaththi" game has been released for Android and Windows users. The makers are planning to release the 2D version of the game as well as the iOS version.

Buzz in Kollywood is that the makers of "Kaththi" are planning to have low-key promotions for the film to avoid unnecessary controversies, reported Sify.

"Kaththi" has been facing some trouble from some fringe groups who have claimed that the film's producers – Lyca Productions – have business links with the relatives of Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse.

They have demanded banning the film until the producers are changed. The groups had even filed cases against the film's release.

On Monday, the Madurai Bench of the Chennai High Court has finally given its verdict on the case. The judge has stated that the court will not interfere in the issue as the censor board has already cleared the film and issued the censor certificate. The court's verdict should give some relief for "Kaththi" producers.

However, members of the Tamil groups have stated that they will protest the film's release if Lyca Productions continue to be its makers. They have said that they don't have any problem if the film is released by Vijay or Murugadoss.
