Ilayathalapathy Vijay has thanked Kiccha Sudeep for accepting the offer to play the antagonist in "Puli". The Tamil actor appreciated the Sandalwood actor at the audio launch of the film.

The audio launch function of "Puli" was held at a resort in Chennai on Sunday, 2 August. At the event, Ilayathalpathy thanked everyone who has been a part of the project.

Vijay further appreciated Kiccha Sudeep for accepting the role of a baddie as, according to him, no other star would have agreed to be part of another star's project, especially to play a villain.

However, Sudeep had no qualms in accepting the offer. Kiccha is a star in the Kannada film industry like Ilayathalapathy is in the Tamil film industry. Therefore, the "Kaththi" star was right in thanking Sudeep.

The Sandalwood star apologised on Twitter for not being able to attend the event due to health issues. Sudeep wrote, "Bst wshs to th entire crew of Puli n VijaySir. Apologies fr not being able to mk it to th Audio launch this evening. Waitin to hear the songs."

Meanwhile, the audio of "Puli" has become a great success. The music has won the hearts of the Vijay's fans despite the critics stating that the album lacks freshness. They pointed out that Devi Sri Prasad's songs are high on energy, but the compositions do not feature anything new.

"Puli" is a fantasy-adventure directed by Chimbudevan. Shruti Haasan and Hansika Motwani are playing female leads in the movie, which is jointly bankrolled by PT Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens. The other attraction is that the film marks the comeback of yesteryear sensational actress Sridevi to Kollywood after two decades.

The film has been made with a budget of Rs. 100+ crore and it will release in September around Ganesh Chathurthi.
