The release of Vijay Sethupathi's upcoming Tamil film "Rummy" has reportedly been delayed.

The makers of "Rummy", scheduled to hit the screens on 14 November, have now pushed the film's release to December. The film might probably release on 6 December, reported Sify.

"Rummy" is a romantic thriller, co-produced and directed by debutant Balakrishnan. The film has Vijay, Aishwarya, Gayathri, Inigo Prabhakaran, Soori and Sendrayan in pivotal roles. The fim's music, composed by Imman of "Kumki" fame, is a big hit.

"Rummy" team is confident that the edge-of-the-seat thriller will impress the audience. The film was reportedly screened to a select audience, who appreciated its story.

The thriller is one of the most-awaited films of 2013, thanks to Vijay Sethupathi who rose to stardom with back-to-back successful films. The actor, who has been in the industry for a long time, got a foothold with the release of "Pizza", which turned out to be one of the biggest hits of 2012.

The actor's next three releases, including "Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom", "Soodhu Kavvum" and "Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara" (Idhaaba) have not just been critically acclaimed, but also commercially successful.

Following the stupendous success of films, Vijay has been offered several films. While "Rummy" is gearing up for release, "Pannaiyarum Padminiyum" is in the post-production stage. Some of his other projects include "Sangudevan", "Idam Porul Eval", "Vasantha Kumaran" and "Purampokku" among others.

"Rummy" will be the actor's third release of the year, following "Soodhu Kavvum" and "Idhaaba". The film was expected to have a clash with "Pizza 2: Villa", which is scheduled to hit the screens on 14 November. Since the release date of Vijay Sethupathi starrer has been pushed further, "Pizza 2:Villa" will have a solo Tamil release.
