Ilayathalapathy Vijay's next movie, which is currently being referred to as "Vijay 60", took off with a formal pooja on Tuesday, 19 January. The movie is bankrolled by Vijaya Productions and directed by Bharathan, who had earlier worked with the actor in "Azhagiya Tamizh Magan".

The makers had organised a script pooja that was mainly attended by the family members of the production house owners and the crew. Ilayathalapathy Vijay could not turn up at the event due to other commitments.

The music composition will begin from Tuesday. Santhosh Narayanan, who is at present scoring music for biggie "Kabali" starring Tamil superstar Rajinikanth and Radhika Apte, will compose songs for a Vijay starrer for the first time. The cinematography of "Vijay 60" will be handled by Madhie and Praveen KL will take car of the editing.  

But Bharathan is yet to finalise the female lead for the movie. Rumour has it that a few big names have been offered and Kajal Aggarwal is the prime contender to bag the movie. But neither the actress nor the makers have confirmed the news.

Meanwhile, Malayalam superstar Mammootty has been reportedly roped in to play a key role in "Vijay 60". The buzz says that he will be doing the role of a baddie in the film. The actor is a familiar face among Kollywood audience as he has acted in a lot of Tamil films, including "Thalapathi", "Aanandham" and "Kandukondain Kandukondain".

As per the sources, the makers will have one more function, where they will announce the commencement of the shooting.

On the other hand, the shooting for Vijay's forthcoming movie "Theri" has been wrapped up. The post-production works will begin soon.

Vijay is expected to take a short break before taking part in the regular shooting of the movie.
