Many celebrities have come forward to help Chennai's flood victims, and the contribution of Siddharth and Khushboo are well known to the public. But many may be not aware of those doing their bit without garnering much publicity.
One among these silent workers is Ajith. As per TV reports, Ajith has been doing his bit for the past couple of days, having accommodated 180 victims who were affected by the floods.
Ajith has provided food and shelter at his residence. Thala has also donated to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund through Mohini Mani Foundation. While there is no official confirmation of his financial assistance yet, some reports claim he has donated more than Rs 1 crore.
The "Vedalam" star is doing without much publicity. He has also directed his close friends to do their bit in such times.
His fans' organisation in Chennai has volunteered to help people, and counterparts from various parts of Tamil Nadu, including Madurai, have contributed in their own ways by sending food packets, medicines, etc, for the victims.
Recently, Ajith's wife Shalini distributed food to over 400 hungry people. On her Facebook, she posted a request to her followers to spread the message so the food reached the needy.
She wrote" "We are preparing some fresh and hot food to help out the folks in Chennai. We will be able to feed about 400 or more people.
