Stefan and Valerie have a history, and it remains to be seen how comfortable they are with each other, especially as Valerie reveals that she was pregnant with his child before Julian ruined their future.

Damon's reaction to Valerie's true identity is also going to be interesting.

"The three of them on the road is a funny dynamic because Damon just figured out, 'Oh, this is V-Card Valerie, the one Stefan slept with!'" executive producer Caroline Dries told TVLine.

Elsewhere in the episode, fans will see Enzo and Bonnie trying to figure out the mystery behind the Phoenix Stone. The Bennett witch managed to resurrect two dead people using the stone, and "Live Through This" will focus on her quest to find the aftermath of using the stone.

"In less than 24 hours, I raised two people from the dead with a sketchy spell and something called a Phoenix Stone. No research, no rehearsal time and no contingency plan," Bonnie explains in a sneak peek. "And now that I have a little breathing room, I want to figure out what kind of magic I was dealing with just in case I opened up Pandora's rock."
