According to the spoilers, Rayna will die towards the end of the episode, but not before making Bonnie the new vampire huntress. Also, Bonnie becomes the new badass character of the show after she seals the entire Armory and leaves Alex with whatever is in the vault.
Bonnie portrayer Kat Graham had mentioned the episode during an interview with Us Weekly, saying a lot of cool stuff is in store for her character. "There's some really intense stuff with my character this season," the actress said. "I think the biggest episodes I've ever had are 20 [airing April 29] and 21 [airing May 6]. It's pretty major for the character — huge turns, a lot of stunts and cool s--t!"

Apparently, a few years ago, Stefan returned to Mystic Falls on the death anniversary of Liz Forbes, hoping to run into Caroline. Instead, he comes across Penny who tries to kill him. Trying to escape, Stefan runs into Matt and the police officer accidentally shoots Penny. Even though it was Matt who pulled the trigger and killed Penny, he blames Stefan for it.
