India's Saketh Myneni couldn't make much of a mark in the men's singles competition at the US Open 2016 as he fought hard but lost to the experienced Jiri Vesely in the opening round. An experience for him nonetheless. On Wednesday, however, it is time for the heavyweight tennis players from India like Sania Mirza, Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes to get set for action.

The Indian trio will be in action in the doubles competition at the Flushing Meadows.

Defending women's doubles champion Sania will not be seen partnering the experienced Martina Hingis this time around as they announced their on-court split recently. The 29-year-old decided to partner Czech Republic's Barbora Strycova for the Grand Slam tournament. The duo play their opening round match at Court 4.

They take on US duo Ena Shibahara and Jada Hart.

Bopanna, 36, who partnered Paes in the men's doubles event at Olympics 2016 but did not have a very good outing in Rio de Janeiro, will be seen partnering Denmark's Frederic Nielsen in the men's doubles competition at the US Open 2016. In the first round, the Indo-Danish duo take on Radek Stepanek and Nenad Zimonjic at Court 6.

Meanwhile, Paes, as usual, will partner Hingis in the mixed doubles event. The terrific Indo-Swiss pair, who together won the Australian Open 2015 crown, the Wimbledon 2015 trophy, the US Open 2015 title as well as the French Open 2016 title, will get set in action against the US pair of Sachia Vickery and Frances Tiafoe.
