US company Woxi Media on Wednesday unveiled Android-based SmartPod (set-top box) in India.

"SmartPod will revolutionise the way people consume the internet and enjoy gaming on TV. SmartPod features AppCasts technology that delivers various content applications through one Android application on the device," said Woxi Media president Amit Gattani, The Times of India reported.

The company claimed that the SmartPod installation will convert any normal TV to smart TV. The SmartPod hosts multiple user login (eight) feature and a personalized account.

This feature allows customers to have separate Facebook, Email and browser history.

The set-top box comes with a QWERTY based remote control with custom hot keys for easy navigation on television. The remote has 2.4GHz RF (Radio Frequency) connectivity. This feature enables the user to change channels without having to point the remote to the television (10 meter, non-line of sight).

The remote is packed with an accelerometer and motion-sensor for advanced gaming.
