Ludhiana, /New Delhi/ Washington DC, Dec 19 (ANI): The United States expressed regret over the treatment meted out to Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade who was arrested last week in New York for alleged visa fraud. Khobragade was handcuffed, strip-searched and put in a cell with criminals following her arrest. US Secretary of State John Kerry called Indian National Security Advisor Shivshankar Menon and voiced regret about the case, the US State Department said. Meanwhile, People in India took to streets condemning the strip searching of its envoy in US, which gave rise to a diplomatic spat between the two otherwise close nations.
