The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is expected to declare the results of Civil Services Examination 2016 (CSE 2016 prelims) preliminary exam very soon, perhaps in the last week of this month.

It is speculated that the CSE prelims 2016 results will be declared on Sept. 16. The UPSC is yet to officially announce the results declaration date of the prestigious examination, but the speculated date holds some water if the past trend is anything to go by. The Civil Services Preliminary examination 2015 was conducted on Aug. 23 before declaring the results on Oct. 12, just 50 days after the exams. In the previous year, the results were announced 51 days after the prelims.

The Civil Services Examination (prelims) 2016 was conducted on Aug. 7 and the results can be checked on UPSC official website when it is declared. Nearly 11.37 lakh candidates registered for the exams this year to fill 1,079 administrative posts.

The UPSC conducts Civil Services Examination annually to recruit civil servants of the Government of India, including Indian Administrative Services (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS) and Indian Foreign Service (IFS), Indian Revenue Service (IRS), and Indian Forest Service (IFoS). The examination has three stages -- preliminary, mains and interview.

Candidates, who have cleared the prelims, have to take mains exams expected to be held in December before facing interview (final stage of the recruitment process) in April.
