Bollywood has started a new trend of making biopic films and casting big stars in it. From "Bhaag Milkha Bhaag" to "Mary Kom", several films were made based on the lives of famous personalities.

Here are few biopic films, which will hit theatres in coming years.

Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt

"PK" director Rajkumar Hirani confirmed that he will make a biopic film on Sanjay Dutt, who was also featured in the former's latest blockbuster. It is said that when recently Dutt was out on parole, Hirani has talked about it to the actor. Ranbir Kapoor is the choice of the director for the lead role in the upcoming biopic.

Sushant Singh Rajput as MS Dhoni

Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput has grabbed the opportunity to star as cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Neeraj Pandey of "A Wednesday" fame is reportedly helming the Indian captain's biography, for which the "PK" star has been chosen.

Considering the fact that Dhoni is the reigning captain of India and has a huge fan-following, "MS Dhoni - The Untold Story" is expected to pull crowds to the theatres in 2015.

Emraan Hashmi as Mohammed Azharuddin

Emraan Hashmi is touted to play the biopic of former Indian cricket captain Mohd Azharuddin. It is said that the film won't be entirely about the game, but it will mainly focus on the legend's life. There were reports that Kareena Kapoor Khan might portray the role of Sangeeta Bijlani, Mohd Azharuddin's second wife.

Randeep Hooda as Charles Sobhraj

Randeep Hooda will be seen in "Main Aur Charles". This film is based on the famous serial killer Charles Sohbraj who escaped from Tihar jail in 1986.

Apart from the above, there are reports that director-producer Karan Johar has decided to make a biopic film on late hockey legend Dhyan Chand.
