New Delhi, June 10 (ANI): The newly appointed Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju reviewed the work of 6-member committee led by MP Bezbaruah and has sought an interim report by July this year. The committee comprising of retired IAS officers, student leaders and representatives from the northeastern states is looking into the concerns of the northeastern people residing across the country. The committee is interacting with students, professionals and various persons from Northeastern states living in metro cities across the country and seek their suggestions. Bezbaruah revealed that the committee has been looking into the possibility of enacting new laws to deal with racial discrimination. The committee was formed following the widespread outrage over the death of Nido Taniam, a student from Arunachal Pradesh in capital New Delhi.
