Nate Diaz has been the centre of attention for a quite a while now, not because of his activities inside the octagon but outside it. The Ultimate Fighter season five winner has not fought since he lost to Conor McGregor at UFC 202 despite the UFC offering him multiple fights. He pulled out of a fight against Tony Ferguson at UFC 213 and is most likely not set to fight for the rest of the year.

Diaz was also presented with the opportunity to fight former UFC Lightweight Champion Eddie Alvarez and during a recent interview Diaz revealed that he didn't even say no, he just laughed.

"I just laughed. Do you want the Eddie Alvarez fight?' How dare you. He just got melted by the guy I just beat up. He just got plumbed by Conor and I just beat Conor's ass. I just laughed at them, like 'Get the f*ck out of here, call me with some real sh*t'," MMA fighting quoted Diaz as saying.

Diaz added that he knew why the UFC offered him the Alvarez fight. UFC fighters have a clause in their contract allowing UFC to extend their contract if they do not accept fights by a certain time. He just wants one of two things from the UFC if he is to fight again: more money or an opponent he's motivated to be locked inside a cage with.

Diaz and Alvarez could have fought in 2015 after they got involved in a backstage altercation at UFC 188 in Mexico City and there was a lot of talk that the two would square off. But Alvarez ended up turning that fight down because he wanted a title shot.

"You guys just offered me that fight that you knew I wasn't gonna take so you can extend my contract, because it was almost over. My time was almost up on my contract. You get your loophole. Don't be trying to play me," Diaz said.

"You had your chance. That's not a fighter. You're not a fighter. ... You didn't want the fight. You had your chance."

With Diaz waiting for a fighter he's motivated to be locked inside the octagon with, McGregor could certainly be the one. Despite Diaz saying that he will not fight McGregor again, rumours going around suggest that if McGregor returns to the UFC this year he could be interested in fighting the UFC lightweight champion for a third time.

"I've been fighting everybody. Conor is like, I need to see activity. I'm like bro, you have like seven or eight fights in the UFC. You're fucking new motherf**ker, you were handed everything. You know what I'm saying? I need to see activity, get your ass to work, or fight f**king Floyd," Diaz said.

McGregor is currently celebrating the birth of his son but UFC fans around the world will be excited to see what the Irishman has to say about Diaz's latest comments.
