The makers of Abhishek Chaubey's "Udta Punjab" have released the poster and motion logo of the film. Starring Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Kareena Kapoor Khan, the trailer of the much-awaited movie has been scheduled to be released April 16.

The motion logo shows the film's name, followed by the line, "Drugs Di Maa Di" and also the makers have released the character motion poster of Shahid as Tommy Singh. "Udta Punjab" revolves around the increasing problem of drug abuse in Punjab. Shahid and Alia play the lead roles and Kareena appears as a supporting actress. The film also features Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh.

The character of Shahid is of a rockstar, who gets involved in a drug-related controversy. "The character is whacko and entertaining. There is one sequence in particular that Shahid's really excited about, an open-air concert with him performing atop a truck, shirtless. The song is a combination of trance music and Punjabi beats. He's shot other interesting concert sequences and had a blast in his rockstar avatar," a source told Mumbai Mirror.

In the film, Alia plays a daily wage labourer from Bihar who comes to Punjab in search for work, but ends up becoming a victim of drug trafficking, prevalent in the region. Kareena plays the role of a doctor from Amritsar.
