New Delhi, Nov 20 (ANI): In a major setback to CBI Chief Ranjit Sinha, the Supreme Court on Thursday directed him to recuse himself from the investigation in 2G scam case. The Supreme Court heard the matter and observed that apparently 'all is not well' and seemingly the allegations made by the NGO against CBI Director Ranjit Sinha have 'some credibility'. The court however didn't give out a reason on its directive saying that this was done to protect CBI's reputation. The court also said that the senior-most officer in the investigating team of the 2G scam will take over the role of CBI director in the case. Further, the SC also rejected Sinha's charges that DIG Santosh Rastogi was the mole who leaked information to petitioner and said that no question will be raised against Rastogi.
