Mumbai/Nagpur/Raipur /New Delhi, Oct 24 (ANI): The level of pollutants in the air shot up significantly due to excessive use of fireworks as people across India celebrated Diwali, the festival of lights, on Thursday. Bursting of firecrackers added to the air, noise and garbage pollution even as massive awareness drives advocating a noiseless and pollution free festival were conducted in different parts of the country by activists, police and civic administration. Accusing people of not remembering Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Clean India Mission', a cleaner in Nagpur city in Maharashtra, Sarita Yadav, said people should act more responsibly by cleaning off the remnants after bursting the crackers.
