Palamu, July 09 (ANI): Police arrested three Maoists with arms and ammunition in Palamu district of Jharkhand. Acting on a tip-off, a special police team conducted search operation and arrested three members of new ultra outfit _Sashastra People_s Morcha_ (SPM) while two others escaped. Superintendent of Police, Y S Ramesh, said they were involved in setting ablaze three machines of a private firm, which were engaged in implementing social forestry project. Maoists, also known as Naxals, have killed police and politicians, and targeted government buildings and railway tracks in an insurgency that has killed thousands since 1960s.
