Srinagar, Jan 31 (ANI): Kashmiris are flocking restaurants to relish a special mutton dish which helps them fight biting cold. The traditional mouth-watering cuisine Harissa is a much-sought after dish in the state during winters. Harissa is prepared with mutton meat, rice, milk and a lot of spices. The mixture is cooked for long on fire, stirred continuously to make it mushy and smooth. When served, hot oil is poured on top of it and it is served with traditional Kashmiri naan (bread). A customer Farooq Ahmed said that Harissa is good for health. The more than 100-year-old dish is a regular in breakfast menu in almost every household when temperatures dip to sub-zero levels during winters. The dish is also popular among visiting tourists as it is not available elsewhere in India. Reyaz Ahmed, who works as a cook in a local restaurant, said the demand for Harissa picks up during winters.
