Tripura/ Himachal Pradesh/ Uttarakhand, Aug 16 (ANI): Heavy rainfall due to a cloudburst in various parts of India on Friday wreaked havoc, cutting-off villages, washing away roads and bridges at several places and killing scores of people. In Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand, 17 people have been buried alive as dangerous landslides hit the hilly region, where torrents of rainfall have been hitting for nearly weeks now. Meanwhile, cities of Dehradun and Haridwar have not gained any sort of respite from Mother Nature’s fury as 20 persons were killed when their houses were washed away due to landslides and floods. Joint Secretary of the Disaster Management Board, Santosh Badoni, confirmed the death toll in the district.
