Ludhiana, July 22 (ANI): People in Punjab planted 1.25 lakh trees in an attempt to provide green lungs to Ludhiana city and also to achieve a new world record. According to a report by World Health Organisation (WHO), Ludhiana was among the top ten polluted cities in the world. In a bid to make Ludhiana a green city, a non-governmental organisation, ___Sambhav___, a youth leadership training organisation, urged people to plant trees. One of the participants, Davinder Singh Pal, claimed to have broken the world record. The event also witnessed participation of Indian Institute of Architects, Ludhiana Chapter (IIA-LC) along with city___s Mayor. Organisers gave free saplings, tools and assistance in order to evoke more public involvement.
