Guwahati, July 21 (ANI): Encephalitis syndrome threat looms large over in Assam, while experts have sounded alert due to significant rise in number of cases reported that have been tested positive. The deadly disease is gradually taking a toll in Guwahati city since the month of June and has resulted in death of four people so far. The deceased includes two adults and two children who were undergoing treatment in the Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Principal of Guwahati Medical College Hospital, Ramen Talukdar said that the patients suffering from the Japanese Encephalitis have been kept under strict observation in the hospital. Patients admitted in the hospital belong to the surrounding districts like Nalbari, Darrang and Goalpara. Around 22 districts of Assam are Encephalitis affected.
