New Delhi/Gurgaon, Oct 1 (ANI)): The glitz and glamour of 'Navaratras' have soaked Delhi NCR in festive euphoria. The city is drenched in Gujrati color with garbas, dandiyas and traditional Gujarati dresses dominating the festivities in the first year of Narendra Modi's rule. And the localities think that Dandiya Raas was a great excuse to pick up the ghaghra cholis and get on the dance floor to swirl to beats of Dandiya and socialize. Navratri, derived from the ancient Sanskrit words 'nine nights' is one of the biggest Hindu festivals celebrated across India in different forms and names, while Gujarati community celebrates it as Navratri, the Bengali community celebrate it as Durga puja. It is believed that during Navratri, the goddess Durga descends on earth to rid it of demons and bless her devotees with happiness and prosperity.
