After making it first appearance at India Bike Week in November 2017, Triumph Motorcycles' classic cruiser -- Bonneville Speedmaster — is all set to be launched in India on Tuesday, February 27. The Bobber-based cruiser with classic laid-back style is expected to be the most affordable cruiser of Triumph motorcycle in India.
The price expectation of the new Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster hovers around Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom) and the cruiser with high-end specs will be offered in three colors -- Jet Black, Cranberry Red, and Fusion White/Phantom Black.
As said, Bonneville Speedmaster is based on Bobber and gets the same engine as Bobber. The new Bonneville Speedmaster incorporates the character of the iconic Bonneville. At the heart of the new Bonneville Speedmaster is a 1,200 cc parallel-twin engine that churns out 77 hp at 6,100 rpm and a peak torque of 106 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster is 8kg heavier than Bobber Black and weighs 245.5kg. Triumph Bonneville Speedmaster also shares the wheelbase, chassis and cycle parts with Bobber.
The Speedmaster features 41mm telescopic forks at the front with 90mm travel and an adjustable monoshock unit at the rear with 73mm rear travel. While Brembo twin-piston 310mm discs take care of the braking at the front Nissin single-piston 255mm disc does the duty at the rear.
The Speedmaster boasts off two riding modes, ABS, switchable traction control and cruise control for superior riding experience. The premium cruiser comes fitted with 130/90-section front tire and a 150/80-section at the rear. The cruiser also gets a host of accessories for customization in Highway and Maverick kits. The accessories include swing arm bags and panniers, highway pegs, engine bars and adjustable touring screen. There is also grab rail removal kit and rear mudguard finisher.
The Highway kit offers full waxed cotton and leather pannier seat, comfort rider seat, matching pillion seat and a host of chrome features including passenger backrest, engine bars, and polished machined oil filler cap. The Maverick kit includes brown quilted single seat set up, flatter raked handlebars and a rail removal kit.
