Trisha Krishnan has reacted to reports, which claimed that she is joining politics. It was speculated that she would join the ruling AIADMK as she is a supporter of Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa.

The "Mankatha" actress has responded to the reports with a clarification on Twitter. "Contrary to recent reports...NO I am not joining politics. Not now n not in the near future...I rest my case ;)," she tweeted.

There have been reports saying Trisha Krishnan would enter politics by joining the AIADMK. The main reason that triggered the speculation was the profile photo of the actress on her Twitter handle.

Trisha has a photo in which she is seen sharing stage with J Jayalalithaa. This picture prmpted gossip mongers to speculate that she is all set to join the AIADMK.

However, the speculation of the actress joining politics did not come as a surprise as cinema and politics go hand in hand in Tamil Nadu.

Even the present Chief Minister J Jayalalitha was a popular actress during her times before foraying into politics. Legendary Tamil icon MG Ramachandran, M Karunanidhi and Vijayakanth got recognition in films before entering politics.

Coming back to Trisha, the actress has her hands full with multiple projects in different languages. "Sakalakala Vallavan", "Bhogi", "Nayaki", "Thoongavanam", "Cheekati Rajyam", "Aranmanai 2" and "Bhooloham" are her forthcoming flicks.
