Agartala/ Siliguri, Oct 05 (ANI): State authorities in Tripura and West Bengal have enforced strict pollution norms in reference to idol immersion for Hindu festival Durga Puja, so as to control pollution level in the water bodies. The municipal bodies have asked their staff, with the help of volunteers, to carry out cleaning process soon after the idols are immersed in the river. Hindu festival Durga Puja celebrates the victory of good over evil. The festival culminates with the immersion of the Durga idols into water bodies. Meanwhile, the municipal body in Siliguri city of West Bengal has also made similar arrangements to keep the rivers clean. For the first time, at both the places, the cleaning teams did not waste any time to carry out their work of cleaning rivers after the immersion of idols of the goddess.
