Actor Tovino Thomas's upcoming movie "Oru Mexican Apaaratha" is set to take us back to the 1970s. "There is an episode in 'Oru Mexican Apaarathaa', where we represent the 1972 era!! We had a blast while filming this portion [sic]," actor Roopesh Peethambaran, who plays a key role in the movie, wrote while sharing a photo of him with Tovino from the sets of the upcoming movie.

The makers of the movie had recently asked aspiring actors who would like to be part of the Tom Emmatty-directed film to come to the shooting location dressed up like the students of 1970s. Following this, as many as 50 people arrived on July 9 and the makers have now shared a group photo of the "1972 batch students" of the film along with Tovino and Roopesh — all of them in their vintage looks.

Roopesh, who made his acting debut with the classic character Thomas Chacko (childhood of Mohanlal) in the Malayalam blockbuster hit "Spadikam," is set to make his entry back to the acting field with "Oru Mexican Apaaratha." In an earlier interview with International Business Times, India, Roopesh had said that the upcoming movie narrates the story of how students established the political party Students Federation of India (SFI) at Maharajas college campus in Kochi as Kerala Students Union (KSU) was the only political party in the college before. While Tovino plays the lead role, Roopesh will be seen as the antagonist, who is the KSU leader.

The upcoming movie, which deals with student politics, is expected to have many fun elements that will bring nostalgia to the audience taking them back to 44 years. The movie is being scripted by "Om Shanti Oshana"-fame Jude Anthony Joseph.
