Tottenham Hotspur manager Maurico Pochettino has urged his team to believe that they can win the Premier League ahead of their match against title rivals Manchester City on Sunday 14 February. Spurs go to the Etihad Stadium on Valentines Day second in the league, but only a point above City.

A good run of form for the Lilywhites has left them just one place off the top spot, and Pochettino clearly believes that an unprecedented Premiership title could be heading to White Hart Line. When asked about his teams title ambitious, the Argentinian said: I think it is perfect in theory, but we need to deliver it. In football all is possible. Why not? We need to believe. We need only believe, and then after well see what happens.

He added, I remember that you [journalists] said to me, and some people inside the club said to me, the team played well, but too many draws. OK, but we need to believe, and we need to show that we believe and trust in our squad.

Spurs beat Man City 4-1 at White Hart Lane in September, in a game which saw Harry Kane score his first goal of the season. Since then, the England striker has netted 14 more times in the league, helping his team leapfrog the Manchester club.

Tottenham are currently above arch-rivals Arsenal in the league on goal difference. The Gunners face table-topping Leicester City on 14 February.
