Lihir Gold Limited (LGL) is engaged in the production, exploration and the development of gold mining properties in Papua New Guinea, West Africa and Australia. The Company’s operations included Lihir, Papua New Guinea; Mt Rawdon, Queensland, Australia; Bonikro, Cote d’Ivoire, and Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. During the year ended December 31, 2009, the production at Lihir Island totaled 853,391ounces (ozs). In Cote d’Ivoire, the Bonikro mine produced 150,023 ozs. Its subsidiaries include Niugini Mining Limited, Niugini Mining Australia Pty Ltd, Lihir Management Company Limited, Lihir Business Development Limited, Lihir Services Australia Pty Limited, Lihir Australian Holdings Pty Ltd, Ballarat Goldfields Pty Ltd and New Resource Pty Ltd.
